Okay, so I spend WAY toomuch time sitting around doing nothing on the net allnight, so I decided to just go sit in my car with my tools and such for a bit every night instead. I've had window-modules sitting around doing nothing for awhile, now, but I finally figured I'd put them to use. Previously I've just been going off of the timer-relay method which works, but can theoretically damage your motors, etc. Anyways, suprisingly the pile of wires really isn't that unmanageable. Unfortuantely my shop could only get ahold of single window moduels, so I have to use 4 of them. Sofar I've just done the fronts. But it's REALLY nice.. added bonus (I think) isthat whenever the window is actuated now, the module kicks in. I didn't even think about this until after the fact, but in lieu of cutting the switch-motor lead and wiring the switch through the module, you could instead simply Tee the connection wires into it, and this should avoid the auto-up. However sofar I see this to be quite desireable. Since I'm tapping into the driver's side switches, it will only be auto from the drivers' switches.
For the actual installation process of my AutoLoc units, it was simple for me because seeing a possible need for future mods, I pulled an extra paired speaker wire through my door which I used for the up/dn triggers from my alarm. THe other thing that made this easy was I simply used the pre-existingwindow power supply. This is facilitated while the car is unoccupied due to the zapwizard window-always-on mod. Apart form thoe 2 things, it was basically a matter of matching up wires, making a couple of cuts, and soldering away... ohyes, and finding a place to tuck these thign sin. I REALLY wish I'da been able to atleast get a pair of 4 way (2 window up/dn) modules. But ohwell, I waited for these for our big order to go in for a month plus, and most importantly it works, and I don't have to worry about burningout my motors anymore.
While I was in my doors I did thelock-trimming thing. My magic number seemed to be 10mm. This allows the lock to stick up enough so you can get ahold of it still, but it's tolrable on the arm.
