I will try and Post a picture later when I get a chance. The mud/wet road grim was actually inside past the gasket. had it not entered the inside I would not be concerned. I had traveled a bumpy section or road when I believe this happened, which makes me wonder if Body flex was the cause.

OEM mud gaurds I installed OEM mud guards on my 2015 Mazda6 GT and never used a torque wrench... never have had any problems. Also just got a 2016 Mazda CX5 and dealer installed as I watched, they didn't use one either. Hope that info helps.
