I think they are a little different. There is a wire twisted along the stem of the VW antenna. VW even made an ad about it on Car and Driver or something :rolleyes:

TT antennas with modified thread will fit, but I believe it is very tough to get one nowadays. 99% of the TT antennas you can find out there are replica of the original one. The short rubber antenna you see on VW could be the VW Sharan antenna. That wouldn't fit VW/P5 unless the thread is...

According to the guy who sold me those, they are anodized. Reception is pretty good from where I live.
