    Freaky acceleration issue

Now this is interesting to read because the car started doing this on the way home and had been fine on the way there (40 min drive each way). We had to drive down a narrow, deeply rutted, muddy drive-way to get to the house we had been to -- and at one point, going down a very slight incline...

    Freaky acceleration issue

Was driving home tonight in my new (< 200 km) 2007 M3 Sport GS (Canada)... we were on the highway, cruise control set at 110 km/hr (~60 mph), in Manual mode (have automatic option), and in 5th gear. I had just changed lanes when suddenly it was like the car was possessed! It plunged into 3rd...

    MS3 Age & Occupation Thread

Age and nostalgic ramblings My age? Old! At least compared to most of the people here! If you really want to know, you can probably figure it out from the below... (and if you're anywhere near my age, you'll probably remember a lot of this stuff as well!)...! I was in the process of...

    Mazda Likes To Screw Us

Right - I agree. And I'm sure he did look it over, but for whatever reason, he didn't get right down and inspect the speakers and CD-changer so, as far as you're concerned, he's now SOL. So what you're saying is: never trust a mazda dealer to be honest and forthcoming with important details...

    Mazda Likes To Screw Us

As I said before, my MS3 Sport has a 6-CD-changer (but factory speakers). So they are not ALL alike, obviously. ;)

    Mazda Likes To Screw Us

I just bought my MS3 on Monday and because I needed a car right away (my vehicle had just died unexpectedly) and I had NO time, I had not done ANY of the research I would have normally done prior to this kind of purchase. The sales person sat down with me, with a list of specs on the different...

    Mazda Likes To Screw Us

I'm Canadian, and I dislike the litigious attitude too, but in this case, I think the guy has every right to be pissed off. I didn't take the "let's sue them" part literally -- but often the threat is enough to light a fire under a company that might be intentionally taking people for a ride...

    Mazda Likes To Screw Us

Not sure if it's different here in Canada, but I have a "Mazda 3 Sport" (still not clear on what "mazda speed" refers to -- I'm thinking that's the US term for the same vehicle?). Mine is a "GS" (what you're referring to as "sport" I think) -- I decided against the GT because I didn't see a...

Newbie - just picked up my 2007 Mazda 3 Sport -- winter tire recs?!

Thanks for the replies... I checked out tirerack.com and the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 seems like it might be a good bet. But I'm also considering tires from this local company that makes new tires from old -- environmentally friendly (which appeals to me) and I like the idea of supporting local...

    Studded tires?

I'm in NS and posted in the NS forum but thought I'd post here as well since that forum gets very little traffic. I just picked up my new Mazda3 Sport GS yesterday and it needs winter tires (16"). I'm wondering if anyone has bought winter tires from Eastern Tire in Pictou County, NS...

New Mazda 3 sport - help with winter tire selection?

Hi all, I gather this forum doesn't see much traffic, but I've tried three times to register at the mazdaclubcanada.com forums that the mod recommended but keep getting the following error msg: "Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 451 4.1.8 Domain of sender address *********@bozzak.com...

Newbie - just picked up my 2007 Mazda 3 Sport -- winter tire recs?!

The tranny crapped out on my 2000 MPV at 215,000 kms (grrrrr!) yesterday but heyyyy, what a really good excuse to get the Mazda 3 Sport that I've been drooling over for ages! Picked it up today :) The bummer is that my Mazda 3 takes 16" tires and I just sold four 16" barely used winter tires...
