    New to me: 2002 Protege5 - I have A LOT of questions

I tried that PSI and then ran max per sidewall, still felt like late turn it with these DSWs. WAY better and cheaper tires out there for the P5, but that's only my opinion. Also, good call on the PS fluid.

Anyone know of a good MP3 edition ECU source?

    New to me: 2002 Protege5 - I have A LOT of questions

Watch out for the VICS issues. Mine fell outside the recall, but happened to my P5 just last week. :( These cars LOVE EBC Greenstuff pads, little more dust, but will stop on a dime with them and any rotor (as already mentioned, you need to remove a bolt and spin a allen key screw on the back...

Horrid top end ticking, broken valve spring?

No kidding! Well, good news is no CELs (well minus a P0660 now, but I can poke that when I can). It puked out the screw finally after about 15 minutes of "spirited back roads driving" trying to blow the screw out, but ate a spark plug (at least it didn't crack the head or F a valve). So...

Horrid top end ticking, broken valve spring?

Confirmed. VICS screw is stuck to the top of Piston #4. I'll toss some pics later of it. It must be fused into the top of the crown of the piston now, as a magnet nor coat hanger wire would free it. F#*& Mazda and this BS. My VIN falls outside of the recall for the VICS recalls, yet it is...

Horrid top end ticking, broken valve spring?

Pulled the intake manifold off (left the lower resnoator/TB section on). *#!&#)*^!$&$@_!)&$&$)!(@ On the VICS, cyln #3, the stinking Butterfly was sitting in the lower manifold section, no screws to be found. Anyone have part numbers or resource for these VICS screws? And should I take them...

Horrid top end ticking, broken valve spring?

I could not see all the angles.... VTCS screw maybe bouncing around in there as another possibility?

Horrid top end ticking, broken valve spring?

Has anyone experienced either a broken valve spring or sticking valve stem seal? Was accelerating onto on onramp and all of a sudden I get theis awful loud ticking (like a midget hitting the valve cover super fast, goes with rpm). Pulled over and towed it home. Pulled the valve cover, cams...

    CX-9 Real MPG

Before we got rid of our 2013, we were getting 16mpg average, but it had a high weight to freeway. FYI regarding ethanol- Basic power per volume calculations and scientific study have proven that when ethanol is mixed with fuel, regardless of burn rates, the fuel has less "power" per volume...
