    Mazda5 Diesel?

Today my wife ran into the driver of a grey market diesel. The German born woman driving it was surprised that the US version only seats 6, and didn't want to trade down over 15 mpg by swapping into our 5. The seed is planted anyway. If they ever want to sell it . . .

    Mazda5 Diesel?

We are seriously considering a VW Sportwagon diesel. Mazda would change our minds instantly by offering a diesel.

5-speed Mazda5 Touring, Eugene, OR We love this car and really don't want to sell it because it is so versatile and fun to drive, but our financial plans require it. This is a 2007 Mazda5 Touring with the 5-speed manual transmission - don't buy one of these cars without it! The automatic is...

WRX owner looking at Mazda5 for 3rd child

Agreed. Without it would be way too tight for any multi-day long distance travelling. We have two out of car seats and one in a full size toddler seat. Around town it works out very well, being small and nimble without being overly cramped - most of the time. And power? My 1983 Tercel...

Can mp3 CD be played in 2008MY?

I really like the AudioLink USB interface. The I-pud plugs in as a line audio feed, but more importantly, cheap USB flash drives and SD cards are a quick change and something I have little reservation about leaving plugged in out in the open. The lack of a track text display is only a minor...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

I must confess that our 27+ mpg average has more to do with driving style than average efficiency. If we drove it like every other nut on the road, 23-25 mpg would be more typical. But instead, we do things like short shifting and keeping the revs low to coasting longer distances to known stops.

    Tires (Summer/Winter)

I love the 'newbie post resurrection phenomenon'. 2 year old thread brought back from the dead. ;) Anyway, this year at least, we are going to install the Hakka-2s we purchsed for our STi (now sold). They're 225/40-17 and will probably float over slush a bit, but you can't argue with the...

What frequencies can you hear *POLL*

Supposedly women hear higher frequencies better than men, but my wife can't hear it either - though she admits to severely abusing her hearing in her youth.

What frequencies can you hear *POLL*

I know I can hear continuously up to about 19k with minor loss, then up to about 22.5k with dropouts. Supposedly anything over 18k or so is not really even transmitted through the tympanic membrane, but rather through 'bone conduction'. Not quite sure how that works though. I just know that I...

Worth the read and the thought!

Ignoring the religious implications, that's probably the best definition I have seen of the Conservative vs. Liberal view of the world. Open your minds people.
