    Need help with ideas

They wanted me to pay for the tentioner, idler pulley, and spring, which came out to 200 out of my pocket. The warranty covered only the belt such was 70, so total the kit was 270 in parts. Labor was 3 hrs to do the belt and another 2 hrs to install the tentioner, idler, and spring. The warranty...

    Need help with ideas

Well if it is an interference motor what are the odds of a bent valve in every cylinder? The warranty is an "aftermarket" warranty and stated that they cover the belt but not the tentioner idler pulley or spring. And the shop wont do the work unless it's they are replaced as well. Well Monday...

    Need help with ideas

Ok so I posted a few weeks ago about a died while driving and no restart. Any ways the car has a warrenty and when I pulled the valve cover the timing belt was slacking between the cams on compression stroke. So that was within the warranty. And they tried to rock me over on it, long story...

    car just died, no spark.

The beck arnley upper I believe is the cam sensor. I believe if the timing belt slipped some teeth it should be getting spark because the sensor would still send a signal, but it would be at the wrong time. So I think I can rule that out unless the ecu reads that the 2 sensors are out of sync...

    car just died, no spark.

Don't want to fork out for something that's not broke. But im going to teat the sensor at it's connecter and if that checks out I was gonna test continuity between the sensor side of the harness and the ecu plug side. Has anyone ever had an ecu go bad? My foot jam has a manufacturer sticker that...

    car just died, no spark.

I reloaded it. I ran out of time today but hopefully tomorrow I can spec out what the sensors are reading. I will report back tomorrow on what I find.

    car just died, no spark.

Most of the troubleshooting on that list seems to be unrelated to my initial issue of only one spark. If i can get the spark for function properly, then I can see what other issues are there but as of now the car won't start because it is not getting proper spark. The air gap is in spec, but I...

    car just died, no spark.

That's what I thought, at first I was thinking it has some miles on it and the timing belt let loose and the cam is not spinning but it's fine. Another thing I even seen about the cam sensor is that it controls the firing of the injectors, and the crank sensor does the spark firing. I just...

    car just died, no spark.

My wife was driving our auto p5 and i just died after about 20 mins of running. Got it to a friend's house and started trouble shooting. It has fuel, all fuses are fine, coil packs and plugs were replaced in january, and wires about 2 months ago. I have tried 3 known good coil packs, other...

    random misfire issues.

Yeah all the plugs were gapped .044. A buddy mentioned using the msp plugs either the g power or v power, what are the benefits of the speed plugs? And the about the egr valve, buddy gave me a header that I need to put on and it has the egr tube blocked off and I have a air filter and fitting...

    random misfire issues.

I have a random missfire issue that I can't track down my root cause. started with a misfire on cyclinder 4, pulled the plugs and the gap on cyclinder 4 was too small. Replaced all plugs, still have a slight misfire when accelerating from a stop in 1st gear at aprox 1500 rpm, but no code. also...

    Rear Right Caliper and Bracket

Drilling out the slide in the caliper is probably the best option. I dont think the easy out will work on it but will work on the bracket side. but I think PB blaster, vice grips, and maybe a propane torch will get the threaded side out. the only concern i have with drilling is drilling thru the...

    Front suspension question

ok the service manual says that the front strut mounting block can be rotated to change the camber and castor. The non stock locations changes camber or castor or both by a number of +30 deg. Just to verify if changing the location it will add positive camber not negative, correct? sorry if its...
