Is there anyway to diagnose the cause of a CEL if you don't have a OBDII device?

I also heard that even if you get the touchup paint factory matched (straight from Mazda), the metallic paint can still look "off," no matter how you apply it. I'm debating whether or not the $4 online is worth it for my Velocity Red HB. Any thoughts?

LOL Ironic. I just replied to a post about color choice (pick red, no one else has it). And the one guy that posts from my state has a red 5-door. Hahaha! But HI! To my fellow rainy-state-er! (hi)

While I do agree, the blue is an attractive color, I don't think it's nearly as eye-catching as Velocity Red. Over the past month of frequent commuting, I don't think I've seen a Red Mazda3 beyond my own...and I like that. A little individuality added on a great performance car. Makes me feel...
