Yes my WRX runs like crap with a CAI (I was refering to kazon's comment). Bottom line most performance companies will sell whatever makes them money. People have it in their mind that when you want to upgrade your car you go and slap on a CAI because that is what all the hondas and Mitsus...

Well if you do Trade in get the STi it is so much of a better car. If you want speed you can find '02 WRXs that are stage 2 for 17-20K In the end if you cant afford an EVO or STi dont over extend your self to get one. The car you have now is cool.

Try getting some from in the car. That way we can get a good idea of the sound inside the cabin.

Thanks t3ase The Boxer engine will sound a little different than normal inline fours but I have heard Straightpipes on a few cars and if you can stand the idle dbs then its a pretty good way to go... At least for us poor married guys that cant spend $300 on a muffler:D

Some newer cars sound pretty good that way. I tried it with mine and stuck with it (not to loud). BTW Your car sounds Ballsy!!!(nuts)

I think I may have to do with fuel delivery but I am not an expert. It is the same way with my WRX and my 280Z. Right about 7/8th throttle and I get the best performance...

Have you tried a straight pipe from the cat back? IE no muffler just 3" pipe?
