In my 2016.5 I am simply using an old clip type attachment. Works great. Keeps it out of the way.

I put Katzkin leathers in mine. Love 'em. Only a couple of things bother me about my 2016.5 CX5 - that stupid little parking brake button. I want my parking lever back. - and the license plate screws (rusted already). I replaced them with stainless steel.

Yep, mine were rusted only after two months. I got some stainless steel screws. Warning, the fronts are different from the rears. Use a little grease when you put them in. They will last longer.

I went with a Curt class III through eTrailer. I wanted the extra tongue weight for carrying loads on top. And yes, it is a big hitch. But, it doesn't bother me.
