Since I have to have a front plate (and here in Chicago I have been pulled over for no front plate in the past) I use one of those WeatherTech plate bumpers on the front to at least get some useful function out of it. But that stupid Mazda plate holder just has the two slots on the bottom...
Does anyone know where to find any instructions for removing the rear panel where the power port is on a (probably) '22 - 24? I have a '24 but suspect it's the same on at least a '22 or maybe earlier. I'm trying to get access to the power feed for some extra cargo area lighting since that area...
This caught my eye since when I got my new '24 the drivers side wiper was stuttering on about the last 4 inches of throw. It stopped after a couple of days of rain and has been fine since.
But after watching that video it makes me wonder if the inserts aren't changing their orientation so that...
You can try putting a shot of electrical contact cleaner in the port, that might help. The best is probably Deoxit D5. Not cheap but the best I've ever used.
If that helps then a good idea is to get a USB extension cable like this. Keep it plugged into the jack with the cable duct taped down to...
There's been a number of threads on Reddit with folks who have had a whine in the car when moving and a few have had their transmission replaced right around that 45K mark. I'd push harder at the dealership.
The wife has WT mats in her CX-30 and I have Tuxmats in my CX-5. The WT mats aren't bad but the Tuxmats have better coverage and the clips make the sides stay up so you get no leakage. I had the Mazda mats previously and they didn't cover the foot rest so it would turn into a salty mess that was...
One thing I'm disappointed about is with the nav vocal prompts. On the older ones the prompts only came from the drivers side speakers so I though having it come from the dash speaker would be an improvement, but the other speakers still don't drop their volume level for the prompts so you still...
I got a nav card off ebay and it works fine but of course can't be upgraded. Got it mostly for the HUD display info and back up when out of cell range.
The HUD is the bomb. Once you get used to it you'll love it, especially since it now shows nav info from the phone.
Gas wise I never feed it...
When I got my new '24 a few weeks ago just to experiment I tried my damnest to lock the fob in the car while moving it around in the interior front, back, footwells, cargo area etc but could never do it. It always unlocked when the door closed or ignored the lock buttons on the door handles. But...
I've never had it happen but read about enough instances of it happening that I bought a spare fob key insert off ebay for like 8 bucks and had it cut by a local locksmith. It lives sealed in a plastic bag taped to the rear of my license plate. Cheap insurance.
Maybe run your car by the CarMax website and see what they come back with. I just traded in my '20 and the dealer just about matched their value as a trade in value. They told me they would actually turn the car to CarMax instead of selling it themselves.
FWIW it was a Soul Red and the hood...
