Ouch umm hmm you can try one of those sockets with the pins in it that clamp onto striped nuts. Thats the only thing i can think off if its stripped In order to get to the other side of the head you have to remove your timing belt and remove the arm that holds your intake manifold in place...

check the metal bracket that holds the coils. On my 1.6 they are numbered but its really small. also i think the 1.8 and the 1.6 are dif so i cant help ya out but try looking at the bracket anyway
