Thats exactly what I did on my car. I used the stock bulb housing, then epoxied the HID socket into it. I had to retro fit an HID setup that had come out of a 2000 BMW 3 series. The extra effort is well worth it, i think. Takes a little more time. But well worth the effort.

I have 4 polished P5 wheels and tires, tires have about 30000 miles left on them. Make me an offer.

Is it on the backside of the air box? has two wires coming out of it? I pulled it right out, kinda pointed at the tip? Thanks

A little, i installed one the other day in a truck. I guess that i am fairly familiar with the unit.

The vss wire is what you are looking for. Do you have a digital multimeter? If so then you can easily verify the wire that you are looking for.

anyone out there have any problems with the a.c? On fan setting 2 my a.c. light turns off, and so does the compressor. This has been going on for a while. Now it is starting to do it on the 3rd fan setting. Has anyone had this type of problem or something similar?

The best thing to do since HIDs are illegal to sell or purchase, is to go to a junkyard and get them off of a wrecked car and modify them to fit youre vehicle. Its not the easiest way but far more rewarding than the aftermarket variety. If you have any questions on the matter let me know
