They can theoretically come installed from the factory, but you will never find one. They are installed at the dealer. It is expensive, but it looks better than after market installs. It looks factory.

I went with the "official" dealer-installed hitch. They do have to cut a square out of the bottom of the bumper, but if done properly, it looks good.

I had the exact described problem on my 2004 Subaru Outback. CV joint needs to be replaced. Have them put it up on a lift, and put it in drive. You should be able to hear a clicking sound coming from one side or the other (maybe both). Whichever side is clicking needs the CV joint.
