    Yes.. that's why they are calling it a "set" because it likely has the ring gear and the final pinion... if the pinion is part of the shaft, then they are providing the ring gear and one shaft... which means then you need to have all the gears and synchros and the like removed and put on the new...

    Less Shock.. Keola... based on what I saw briefly looking at the link, it only looked like a final drive ring gear... not a full gear set.... I'm going back to look at it again now to confirm.

    I think just a couple days.. I should have the motor Friday unless there is a valve train issue going on right now.. I'm somewhat worried that one of the valves in binding or a tappet is binding for some reason... or even worse that the cam bearings aren't in alignment for some stupid reason...

    Yeah if you have a phone number or an email addy that would be cool :) nifty combo on the spooling :). Timing is the other way to do it... some tricks can be played with timing to get your spool up smoothly.

    Well I'm 8.9:1 compression... and our pump gas is 93 octane... (10% ethanol as well). So we'll see... but I don't see running race gas and claiming 400 whp as valid as that isn't the street use of the car... I'm sure i'll make more power with race gas (due to more aggressive timing etc) for...

    They already balanced them all... everything is within like a .25 gram. I'm going to talk to CP on Monday, and sit down with my machinist and see where we end up getting to. If we can still get the motor together this week that is best for me... but I'm not going to compromise the pistons or...

    Yep... when I talked to Beau, he said this is the first time he's ever heard of this! So lucky me I guess :D. EDIT: here is the picture... the red box is the radius causing problems with the side to side clearance of the small end of the rod... and the blue box is the area where the rubbing is...

    Only possible way it could be Beau's fault... and I doubt it... is if he told them the wrong rod length. So I'm having my machinist confirm the rod measurements and width etc... and then I'll talk to CP on Monday and verify what they have on the work order from Beau. Either way it is a mistake...

    Oliver "long" rods, 8.9:1 CP pistons. Yeah, Beau was shocked as well. I'm talking to CP on monday to figure out what the heck is up... and hopefully sort out from there... I'm quite pissed because this means I'll be missing some of my races... which is going to put me back in the points...

    I believe Terry picked up a Sylvia. My plans for 400 just got slapped silly... the rods and pistons I got from MAM don't fit together.. intereference issues with the small end of the rod (Oliver rods) not fitting into the CP piston... rubbing on the underside of the piston... so I'm SOL right...
