There is no problem. I was just hunting for a place to get it cheaper than the dealership when people started screaming "just print it out!!!!!1111onelol" If anybody needs/wants one, Med Center Mazda in Birmingham, AL quoted 70 bucks. Apparently that's a good deal.

Nope, if I need it printed, I can certainly handle that. Simply looking for a source other than the dealership for the factory service manual. That's all. Thanks for the info, I'm sure it will come in handy.

hehe, I just traded in my '04 RX-8 for an '02 P5. The 8 is a VERY fun car, but it's very hard to live with. I may have been happier with it if Mazda hadn't consistently lied about the car. They overstated the HP, overstated the gas mileage (and still do), and didn't disclose that it consumes...

A bunch of loose paper in a folder? No offense, but I'll pass on that. Too disorganized, easy to lose the one page you need. No index, etc. I'm not worried about it getting too messed up, I keep my garage immaculate. I don't mind getting some greasy fingerprints on it, not a big deal...

Wow, Thanks for nothing. I like having a bound copy that I can keep in the garage with the rest of 'em. Not to mention it probably ends up costing less than printing the whole bloody thing out.

Anybody have a good place to get the shop manual for the Protege5? Preferably someplace other than the stealership. If you have one, how much did it end up costing you? Already checked with Helms, they don't do Mazda.

That's not a bad gain for just the header and exhaust. One more total newb question: Where exactly is the ECU located? I haven't had a chance to go look for it yet.

Exactly why I want to crack that ECU. I've done some ROM editing on the Honda P12/13/14 family, and on P28 and P72 ECUs. There's bound to be some power to be had there. Did you get any tuning done on the car while you were at the dyno?

Not to mention Tein, they make a coilover setup for it as well. TurfBurn - I totally missed the FS-DE reference in your first post. heh, oops. Anyhow, so nobody you know of has hacked the ECU in this car and developed any freeware/open source tuning software? If not, I may just take a crack...

Nowhere near the end of the warranty. I bought a certified pre-owned. 100k/7yr warranty extension. I know I won't be able to wait that long to get crazy with the car though. Only reason I ask about the shop, Speedsouth in Pelham (just south of b'ham) has built some pretty sick Mazdas...
