yep, cell phones are bad.... so instead i only leave my car running and smoke a cigarette to pass the time while i fill up my tank. :D ...when i see people smoking while filling a tank... i just drive away as FAST AS POSSIBLE.

only problem with the WRX is that it is so ugly it makes my stomach turn. I'd rather have a little less 1/4 mile perfomance and a little better aesthetic in the car i drive...so that leaves the subaru out.

The rust proofing thing sounds like a total SCAM. go to www.carbuyingtips.com and read up on all this stuff... i know that you are in a hurry to purchase a car...but if you're about to spend 28k on a car...i think it is worth an additional half hour of research before throwin' down your money...

Woody, Congrats on being able to make a decision! due to my indecision, i'll probably never buy a new car and will just drive my 97 nissan sentra (w/ only 130k) into the ground...and instead just drool at all the jettas and 6's that pass me!:D

The vw 24valve VR6 engine and 1.8 turbo have a recall issued for coil packs (a piece tied into the spark plug wire thing) that burn up and cause the car to run horribly, start bucking, and misfiring on the remaining cylinders... essentially leaving the driver standard wherever the coil packs...

MikeyG_U2, yeah..it is a tough call....but if you go with the GLI, you should be able to get it at invoice. no questions asked. VW's sales are off around 11%. If the dealer tries to say..MSRP...just walk. I am sitting on the same fence as you. i've been thinking heavily between the 2 cars...

Just thought i'd post this up. As of saturday, Billco Mazda in Wexford, PA had 2 mazdaspeeds (black one on the floor) and an orange one outside still for sale. i'm not sure what they were asking for them...(i was there with my girl to test drive a new 6!)but i just thought it was interesting...
