FIXED IT!!!!!!! it was the waterpump bearings. took it all off and there was a green water mark all the way down behind the timing belt.

im having the same problem with my car! need to get this sorted its starting to get worrying........

i have a uk 1999 mazda 323 1.5 16v. there is a strange rotating grinding noise when the engine is warm. it seems to be at half the crank speed throughout the rev range but the noise goes at about 3k. anyone got any ideas?
