Have you looked on cargurus.com? They list inventory of dealers and you can get an idea what dealers near you might have them based on if there is a pix of the actual car. A few dealers seem to have them. Maybe there is a dealer somewhat close to you.

Is she going to be in/driving the car? You could tell her about the improvements in road noise. Then there are the upgrades to get the navigation and lights to be similar. Maybe if she drove both years she would see the improvements? Or wait as long as you can to see if those email...

His reluctance to attach it to a VIN sounds kinda sketchy to me. You could ask for the final out-the-door price to be sent to you. All taxes and fees included. Maybe that will help. Otherwise they could add regional fees, destination fee, the tank of fuel, and the tax/title fees to the quote...
