Believe it or not, the probes DO go out more rapidly the higher the consistent temps and pressures are. They'll last just long enough to get you out of warranty anyway. I just see nothing wrong with measuring Turbine Outlet Temp since the only time the temp will be substantially different...

Amen! I think you are spot on for the most part though it is a bit weird that MAZDA would use an AEM pipe without at least a mesh screen to diffuse the air. I might look into that myself.

Well if the MAF sampling tube is changed to a different housing then it is going to read different than it did before due to the changes in airflow characteristics. It is entirely possible that it can read it leaner. Most OEM sensor have a housing and those are less sensitive to relocation...
