    07 speed 3 stereo install

I finally began an upgrade of my Mazdaspeed 3 this year. To date I've installed all new door speakers, two amps, and a sub, power wiring, sound deadening in the doors. It is a completely stealth install powered off the stock head unit, minus the Diamond Audio tweets in the doors. Sound is...

Something to think about before installing intake

ah, okay I see where you're coming from.

Something to think about before installing intake

This would be one of the first ones I've seen to where the housing does NOT affect it.?? I've always understood it that the maf sample tube is proportional to the size of the housing because the voltage it generates is representative of the whole mass of air flowing through the housing at any...

Something to think about before installing intake

Hey, when you get time click on one of my links. I AM a tuner...just not for Mazdas. Yes I could tune it out if I had tuning software for a Mazda, or even something simple like an SAFC or eManage, mafia, etc. However, that's just a scaling factor to adjust maf voltage rather than having the...

    EGT Gauge vs. Wideband

Oh, forgot to mention that my last turbo car the temps between the cylinder head and the turbine measured 900C on full throttle runs as the rpm approached 7000rpm. That was with good 12.2:1 air fuel ratio and the engine ran exceptionally well for the 3 years I owned it with a turbo on it...

    EGT Gauge vs. Wideband

Believe it or not, the probes DO go out more rapidly the higher the consistent temps and pressures are. They'll last just long enough to get you out of warranty anyway. I just see nothing wrong with measuring Turbine Outlet Temp since the only time the temp will be substantially different...

    Fast E/T's

Hahaha OWNED! (nana) BTW, I'm with you and if you look at my location you can probably tell where I STILL am, and I type well also.

    Fast E/T's

Me too. I took mine to the track here in texas on a hot 95* high humidity night at about 10pm. I turned a 15.4@92 with about a 2.4x 60' lol....Terrible. First run was actually a 16s run until I realized the fken traction control was on and just pulling made power. The car still was pretty...

    EGT Gauge vs. Wideband

I'd think you'll be going through k-probes faster if you mount it in one of the runners as well as it wouldn't be representative of the whole engine. Yes that is going to give you "a reading" of temp in that runner and yes it will read hotter there than if you mount it immediately after the...

Something to think about before installing intake

Yeah, I'll look at it today and see. I didn't really think all these high dollar intakes would "leave it to chance" but with all the people reporting codes popping on with aftermarket intakes, and running leaner on the MS3 intake then it makes me wonder if we can't do a better job of opening up...

Something to think about before installing intake

Amen! I think you are spot on for the most part though it is a bit weird that MAZDA would use an AEM pipe without at least a mesh screen to diffuse the air. I might look into that myself.

Something to think about before installing intake

Well if the MAF sampling tube is changed to a different housing then it is going to read different than it did before due to the changes in airflow characteristics. It is entirely possible that it can read it leaner. Most OEM sensor have a housing and those are less sensitive to relocation...

Single pod a-pillar boost gauge install

Hey I think it looks great but I'm concerned about the airbag deployment. If I could see how the panel will deploy out and insure I'm not killing a passenger with it then I'm game.

FS OEM 2008 MazdaSpeed3 Suspension parts

I would be interested in purchasing the struts/shocks assuming I could get them to fit on my Mazda5. I have the MS3 and Mazda5 but I haven't really got under either to check them out. If it works, depending on how many other parts I'd have to buy, I'd definitely like to firm up the 5's...

    Broken Trans!!!!!!

If it is the clutch then as long as it shows something broken like the tabs or springs where the linings are connected to the hub, then it should also be warrantied. If the linings are wore out then then it would not. He never specified if he could put it into a higher gear than 1-2 and if he...

    Turbo Kits

Do it! An improved Tranny cooler will not void your warranty and in fact will only help prolong the life. I personally couldn't stand the ATX so I bought the 5 spd manual Touring. I'm set now, all I need is a set of improved shocks, bigger antisway bar and intake header and exhaust.

    The very first 400bhp SPEED3!!!

It seems interesting that the kits run only on MAF and MAP rather than going the extra level and adding a temp sensor input after the intercooler. What about throttle position? In most cases the only time you need the meth injection is running higher levels of boost and/or higher throttle pos...

    Engine Swap

The engine will fit fine. The speed3 has a taller hood with ducting to fit the topmount. You would find it easier to just swap in themotor and put a frontmount on it instead. You'd have more problems with the engine fuel system though than anything else. The speed3 direct injection uses fuel...

So how fast have you driven your MAZDA5

I've had mine to 100mph quite a bit on the highway. I have a 5spd manual though and it has plenty of power. I love the functionality of it too! However, it does NOT handle like it is on rails (laugh) It's like a dry sponge. My Mazdaspeed3 handles like it is on rails but the 5 is absolutely...

Who is overboosting and to what?

Oh okay, I'll just let you figure it out then.
