I had already replaced and removed the thermostat completely before I posted to no avail. Dinux, what symptoms did you have with the water pump going out? I've had an intermittent squeel and I'm beginning to think that's probably the issue.

Okay, now I ordered the part, but it looks nothing like what's currently in the car. The manufacturer part number is ZM01-18-100. I got this straight from Mazda. Do I have the incorrect part? The picture with the hand is the part I have received. The picture from the catalog looks similar...

Yeah, did the plugs and wires already. Do Mazda's cylinder's go from right to left in sequential order, or do they switch up? Thanks again for your help guys. By the way PatsFan, nice article on the EGR valve cleaning. Saved me a lot of time.

Hey all, doing my first tune up on my wife's new/old car. The cylinder 2 is misfiring (code p0302) so I'm going ahead and replacing the ignition coil since it has never been done. When looking into the compartment, will it be the coil on the left or right that will affect this?
