Thanks for the help so far! My CX-9 is a FWD w/out the tow prep package. I think you're right voldsom, after doing some more research I think the next step is buying a jumper harness, I found one for $11 on amazon. Does anyone know of a instruction manual for the installation? A guy sent me...

I have the mazda part readt to install BUT the connector on the car is "male" and the harness part straight from Mazda is also "male", is there something im missing here? I found this old How-to on the site and I see he also has 2 males but I've yet to get a reply...

I'm installing an oem wiring harness on a 2013 model...When trying to connect the harness I see I have two Male connectors. Upon reviewing the original images on this thread, he does too. Am I missing something here? It should be plug and play...
