Chuging at 3000 RPM and now check engine light is on

"Chugging" could be a myriad of problems. For me these symptoms ended up as transmission failure, but i understand this is less likely with manuals. Could be a precursor to engine failure though. I would go into a certified tech/dealer service for diagnostics. I would not risk going to anotger...

Help, loud clicking when turning left

Where is the click coming from? This happened on my Lexus IS250 and it turned out to be a CV Boot. Fortunately replacement is not too costly. If the clicking is coming from the Steering wheel or column then not sure.

    08 mazda 5 P0758 shift solenoid B questions

After changing Solenoid B did you get continuing bad behaviour from the tranny or just the codes came back?

Serious problems with my Mazda5. RIP?

My 2008 Mazda5 GT has 139,000km (86k miles) and has some serious, possibly fatal troubles. Oil leak - Overnight it will drop about a 4 inch spread on cardboard. Engine ticking - Prominent but essentially quiet at cold temperatures, and gets louder as engine warms. Occasional, and slight loss...

Starter replacement at only 51k miles?

Yesterday I got a call from my wife saying she was stranded at the shops because the car wouldn't even attempt to start. Dash lights come on, air blows, music plays, does not start. Incidentally the closest auto service was the Mazda dealer across the street. We towed it there and got the...

Car won't even attempt to start. Immobilizer?

I'm stranded at my office. When I insert my (jackknife) key into the car and turn it forward I get radio and air blowing, but then when I try to actually start the engine I get nothing but complete silence. The car doesn't even try to start. This has happened in the past and I can usually just...

Brake troubles, and need help buying new parts

Last summer I needed to replace all four rotors and pads and, finding myself in the US one weekend, had the job quoted and completed. Trouble is the mechanic could sling a wrench but not count to four - he only replaced the fronts. Still that fixed all the issues and out of laziness I dropped...

2009 Mazda 5 Lowering and Camber Question

I know of two guys who ordered camber plates from Mazdaspeed, I believe originally meant for the Speed3. They also said they were pricey but totally worth it. One of them had H&R's too.

    Vibration revisited

Exactly as expected. +1. I noticed this the first time I took my 5 out after buying it and to be honest haven't been too worried. Almost everyone has had the issue and I'm rarely at the occurring speeds. If there is a TSB then that's good and we can all go in and get motor mount changes or...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

That's very good advice for those seeking to get an impression of real-world mileage figures, and to see how they stack up to their own numbers (which is the object of this thread). But I always kind of think that these threads end up taking the turn of "who can get the best mileage from their...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

Man I forgot to report my great triumph. I drove 357.3 miles and consumed 10.2 US gallons of fuel doing so. 357.3/10.2 = 35.03mpg. Trip was flat for most of the time. Very little wind. Speeds were around 60mph most of the time, with some stretches at speeds lower than that. Dudes over at...

Mazda Awesomeness - a short rant

Even though a Mazda engineer could tell us exactly what that voodoo amounts to in design, I prefer to look at it exactly the way you've put it. It's voodoo magic I tell you.

Mazda Awesomeness - a short rant

This is the kind of mind-control that I really enjoy. Keep on mesmerizing me Mazda. I think that this is SOOOO true! Couldn't agree more. Mazda hasn't made the strides in market share that Toyota has and since they are still small they have to be very efficient, engineering their cars right to...

Mazda Awesomeness - a short rant

After visiting Honda and Toyota dealerships this evening, I thought it prudent to browse through some threads on OdyClub and SiennaChat to see what people talked about pertaining to their beloved minivans. After 3 hours of reading I've determined two things: 1. This little Mazda 5 community is...
