Signature vs Grand Touring Reserve / Incentives

I would describe the Sig lthr as semi-aniline and the GTR as pigmented. The quality of the hide is the real kicker and kind of hard to know in a car until it's too late in the case of the bad ones. If the use is repeated city trips or very heavy driver/rider then the equation gets harder to solve.

Impressions After A month with my 2019 GT - What's with the "Leather" Seats?

The seats are the main weakness from our test drive of the CX turbo cars. Too narrow. I'm a stocky build but not a huge butt either and neither is my wife but they side bolsters are tight on the front seats and seats cushions are short for an adult in back, not that we use a back seat that way...

Signature vs Grand Touring Reserve / Incentives

Leather dye is either aniline or not aniline. That said by a leather craftsman who bought various hides. Most vehicles other than very high end have top coated leathers which also vary in quality. The easiest way to tell is to take a look/see at the back of the material not the outside. I am a...

    2019 GT-R Engine Performance Question

OP's coming in with it "Leases out horribly" takes me to talking leases vs. cars. I get it that leases work for some folks but after 3 pages of trying size up this thread it died on me as a non-leasing owner. I did drive finally get to drive the 2.5 turbo last week and really like the car! We...

    Signature v GTR

As a guy whos owned many, many cars with all colors of leather and who has also formerly been a pro wrencher the only serious leather damages i have seen have been from too wet, too much dog traffic, kids with nasty stuff, big fat people and city cars which have suffered from lots of in and...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

My nearest dealer in Lexington, KY just got their 1st 2019 SIG car. They list that car on typical web sales locations like Car Gurus for 4% off MSRP which equals invoice. Plus state fees and their too high admin fees. Car Gurus has a GTR listed from Kerry Mazda in Florence, KY(CIN area) for...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Yes, you can buy down trim models in CX-5 then add Nav to any model as the guts are in there-so a salesman told me. That guy was very knowledgeable and brought it up as a plus factor. Reviewers say it's not the greatest nav system, as dated technology and we like our cheapo Nuvi Garmins that...

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

Mice, rats, chipmunks, squirrels- all smaller rodents have been chewing on wires long before soy was involved. It's a fact the ultra sonic is a no/go. My favorite trap is the Ketch-all which flat out works! Just check out Amazon/ebay for the lowest price. Another good trap is the Victor...

Test drove a '19 GT-R and Signature today

Thanks for a post that's actually on the topic. While I don't mind some off topic comments and as guilty as the next person at times, I didn't come here for conversations far and away not about the CX-5 and real car talk. This forum is showing me far too much "one up'smanship and talk far astray...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

I does serve your purpose to get as close to the new Mazda new car mgr as possible. Depends on the dealers structure but some places you'll wade through staff who do not discount enough to be of use. Like has been said- since Al G invented the internet, they all have internet sales mgr.'s and...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

I tell any dealer I ask for a quote to leave off anything that's not on my list. That includes nitrogen tires, paint sealants, any type of dealer logs stuck on in any fashion!, and I will pay no admin fees other than a required tax collection. There's no harm in negotiating from invoice prices...

Test drove a '19 GT-R and Signature today

Do as you wish. Leather home furniture makes more sense than in a vehicle if you don't have rug rats. There are vast differences is leather quality in home furniture while in vehicles you mostly see three levels-crappy, OK (most) and superior in cars we don't buy in this forum much... meaning...

Test drove a '19 GT-R and Signature today

Maybe he wants the car there for test drives? maybe he's sharing his true opinion and not into the lot lizard small talk? I am sort of agreeing with him until I see a SIG up close feature wise-$2,020 buys a lots of other stuff? and they do mostly look alike in nearly every way possible...
