parking lights stay on in my case the alarm would be constant horn no beeping ... I did lock the car with the key in the door and the lights would go off just so my battery wouldn't drain ... it is just the control module that needs replacing

well i won't hold my breath for an answer than. sorry to hear about your motors. do you think it was a bad rod making your noise?

funnylittlman, It was a tin knocking sound kinda like a heat shield rattling. Just got a call from my dealer and Mazda says 2 more weeks before I get my motor. They are shipping it from Japan straight to Chicago. The car will be in the shop longer than I have had it in my garage. (bang) (argh)

Delivery Guy your alarm problems were exactly the problems I was having plus when the alarm went of it was a constant horn blast . Try locking the car with the key in the door and the lights will go out most of the time.At least it will save your battery until you can get to the dealer. Jeremy

No it still was drivable it only knocked on acceleration around 3 grand but it didn't sound like a rod luckily it didn't throw the rod into the side of the block. My dealer was going to order parts to rebuild but mazda told them not to touch it and send it back to them.
