Just filled up, 320.4 miles divided by 12.48 gallons to fill up equals 25.67 mpg. Jim

My commute to work is about 25 miles one way, it's a mix of freeway and through town. I get 24-25 mpg using the old school way, miles driven divided by gallons used. I don't think that's to bad considering my window sticker said 18 city and 26 highway. Jim

Called the dealer at where I bought it and was told the same thing, $500-$600 and was told that they did this, that, this and that for that price. I asked why none of this was in the owners manual and got a line of crap. I'm calling Mazda Corporate hot line next and ask them. Jim

Called the dealer today for an appointment to get a front end noise checked out and thought I would have them do the 30K service also. Service Manager said the service would be about $600 which shocked me. I checked the owners manual before I called and it shows on the chart for the 24 month/30K...

I've got one on the passenger side SOMEWHERE that drives me nuts. Last visit to the dealer and of course, it didn't make a sound. I also have the wiper cowl windshield noise that I will have them address on my next visit. Jim

Changing the subject slightly. This may be a dumb question but this soot build up that the MS3's get. Would it after a long period of time, say 30K or 45K miles actually have enough build up in the exhaust system to restrict flow of the exhaust? Could it actually reduce the exhaust pipe diameter...

Thanks for information about the turbo and ram-air. I realize even the system on my truck isn't a true "ram-air" since I don't drive fast enough to pressureize the airbox however it is a true "cold-air" system. I've taken temperature readings of the airbox and it's as cold as the ambient air...
