I agree with Txrxs to an extent. Change it to a twin turbo big-block chevy(572 ci should do it) in the front, a Richmond t-56, and a ford 9" positrac with 3.73 gears out back. I've been working on pushrod v-8s for a while now, and I've never seen a Chevy 455, Olds 455 and Buick 455, and Pontiac...
