also i understand the 1.6 sohc is just a bored out version of the 1.3? if thats true could i use that engine ecu and fuel pump?

no as usual Ill get straight to the point. 1997 mazda 323 engine blown, it is a 16 valve engine very basic. i need to find a new engine in munster Ireland, but am not sure exactly what years engines will do the job. originally i tried putting in a 1.5 dohc mazda 323 engine from a 1996 323...

yeah i thought that, i wonder would a glanza 1.3 turbo fit under the hood. . like mounts etc . . i'm still in dream land. . :) if only swapping engines was as easy in ireland, i might consider it.

yeah, i would need a stand alone ecu? to control fuel injection when on boost? or i could have the original ecu remapped to do this. i agree the manifold is the hardest part. i wonder has anyone done this before on this forum. thanks for reply JamieR
