Clicking Sound When Making a Slow Full Right or Left Turn

I did an initial look around the CV boots when I was checking the steering assembly and did not see any tear or signs of grease leaking out. I will take another look at different steering positions today. It is possible that water could have penetrated the CV's as I drove over approx. 6 inches...

Clicking Sound When Making a Slow Full Right or Left Turn

Has anyone experienced this clicking/ticking sound during a slow full left or right turn. I was maneuvering at a smooth parking lot when I noticed this sound. No steering fluid leaks around the steering assembly and pump/hoses. At normal speeds and making turns on intersections, no...

    2006 Mazda5 possible purchase Q's?

2006 Mazda 5 Sport Auto Got a little over 74,000 miles and had to change out front struts (right strut fluid leak) and rear shocks, one engine mount (fluid leak), engine coolant sensor and thermostat and both sliding door actuators. The rest were just normal wear and tear maintenance.

Front Suspension Grunt/Binding Noise Over Humps/Bumps

I had the front/rear bushings (not exactly sure which ones) replaced by the dealer back in '07 as part of what the dealer said was a TSB replacing polyurethane to rubber. Since the noise was annoying and was still under warranty, had it done and noise went away. Here I am 2 years later and...

    Driver's Side Pillar Trim Removal

Done deal. The weather seal had to be pulled off the metal lip since the plastic clip is held by the rubber. Wires are hidden and out of sight!

    Driver's Side Pillar Trim Removal

Thanks for the tip. I'll give this a shot again. I was able to pry open the bottom section near the driver's seat but the section towards the 2nd row was a b_ _ _ _.

    Driver's Side Pillar Trim Removal

Has anyone tried removing/installing the driver's side pillar trim (right below seatbelt anchor)? I'm need to tuck in a bunch of speaker out/rca patch cables underneath that trim. The door step trim panels were easy to pop out but this one won't budge(argh)

    Engine Shutdown

TSB Multi-Engine Stall at Low Speed Cavalier Mazda was responsive and took a copy of the TSB print out. Since this was still covered under drivetrain warranty ( 5yrs/50,000 miles) no charge. After driving off the dealership, the symptoms were still there. Made another appointment for a...

    Engine Shutdown

Has anyone experienced their 5 engine dying after a few minutes of start, moving for less than a mile, then shuting down when coming to a stop? This happened to my 5 (36,678 miles) twice within a month. Engine temp. gauge just got out of the C mark. It started right back and never died again...

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

Occasionally, cars/trucks pass me by since I was at a steady state. Thought about pacing a big rig for that vac effect but it could be costly. I based the wind speed on the weather report that day and should have had minimal impact. I just installed a K & N air filter, Bosch 4+ Platinum plugs...

2006+ Mazda5 Maintenance Tasks: Do It Yourself

First Engine Oil change Finally got the process done. Use Castrol Syntec Blend (36,340 miles) 5w-20 and K & N engine oil filter (special order by Advance Auto for $10 bucks and change). The 74/76 mm Ampro cup wrench did not work for me. It slips. Ended up using channel lock pliers which...
