2003 Mazdaspeed Protege Spicy Orange Mazda #1186
I have for sale my 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. This Mazda is a great car as a daily or as a project/weekend car. I would keep it if I could but I already have 2 other cars so this one has to go. Installed a brand new Garrett T25 turbo along with a...
I'm running a T25 turbo with my wastegate set to boost at 9psi and have a Greddy type S BOV. So I installed my JDM engine this February and I've been running fine with my setup, BOV works perfectly with the classic Type S whistle. Then starting last week my whistle went away and now I have...
holy crap!! talk about bringing a post back from the dead, i'm in the same situation too but u beat me 12hrs before i would have posted. i first tried loosening some of the tranny bolts but it didnt budge so i drilled the holes like in the pics. now i need to move the flywheel into position to...
Now that I'm done with the swap, I'll just leave a few gems of wisdom for people who want to tackle this swap. I am not responsible or liable for anything that might happen with your swap, these are just recommendations to get this to work that I've found out on my own, since I couldn't find...
WHOA! I didn't even know there was such a thing as a 4WD FSDE, how can you tell?
Well I was going to use the MSP head because I replaced the valve seals a few months ago and I know they're good. I gotta change over the crank pulley regardless because the USDM one has the teeth for the crank...
Well the exhaust cam on my JDM engine is FSD7 and the block itself is stamped FS NOT FP. That convinces me that it's an FS despite the fact that it has the FP39 intake cam.
Just because you think it would be "stupid" doesn't make it not true. So I'll take your word that you've worked with all...
I'm not sure if this is information you have based on a search (on this thread, google or otherwise) or if it's first hand knowledge. What I DO KNOW is that the JDM FSDE that I'm getting has the FP39 intake cam because that's what's stamped on it. I know this is an FS engine because it has the...
I'm pretty sure you're right about the JDM IM, but let's say all things equal, I removed the VTCS off the UDSM manifold, which would be the better manifold?
Also how and why is the JDM cam better? Remember it's not the FSZE cam. I couldn't find any specs on it other than it's stamped FP39.
I'm not using an FSZE, using the FSDE, just the JDM version. So from what I can gather, the USDM and JDM blocks are the same (assuming the JDM block is '99 and up). The only difference in the heads are the intake manifold, the intake cams and the way the ignition is set up. The JDM engine has...
