    CX9 passenger side airbag recall

I got the same letter and asked the dealer to disconnect the airbag until parts come in. He said no can do per federal NTHSA guidelines. Anyone know a quick way to disable the air bag? I's rather have not airbag than one that might explode.

Advantages of 235/60/R18 vs 245/60/R18 snow tires?

Getting ready to replace my winter snow tires. Several of the leading choices have an XL rated tire in 235/60/18 versus a standard load for 245/60/18. Been thinking of dropping down to the 235's as I've heard a narrower tire is better in snow anyway. Anyone used 235/60/R18's on a CX 9 GT AWD...

    Awesome New Brakes=Street Performance Plus

Just put new rotors and pads on my 2008 CX9 GT AWD. Bought SP Performance Plus drilled and slotted rotors with their semi-metallic pads. Love them so far! My stock rotors were a little warped from lots of downhill after skiing driving. New brakes seem like they stop the vehicle quicker. SP...

Maximizing gas mileage for the CX-9

Try the fuel injector cleaner route. I just used Red Line in a tank and my highway MPG went up by about 2 MPG over the previous trip I took. Seems to have made about a 1 MPG increase in town.

    Trip Report-Michelin Latitude Tour XP

Just completed a trip this weekend through a pretty good snowstorm in souther Utah. I have an 08 GT AWD with Michelin Latitude Toup XP's - 255/50/20 V rated tires. They are awesome in ride and handling and were better than I expected when we hit the snowstorm that had left between 4-5 inches...

    Option Removal?

Just received the original factory window sticker from Mazda for my recently purchased 2008 AWD GT. Under Optional Equipment is listed option CE1, LEV-2 ULEV Emissions. This was a California delivered vehicle. My question is, can you remove this option and, if so, would my mileage improve? I...

    Rear Air Controls

OK. Stopped by the dealer this morning and found out the following peculiarities with the 08 CX-9 heater controls. First, with the system set to Auto, the rear controls do not work. Second, for heating, with the rear control switch on the dashboard on, the rear controls work but with the rear...

    Rear Air Controls

Can't seem to get the rear air controls working. I thought pushing the rear control switch in from activated the rear temp and fan dials but nothing seems to make them work. Any suggestions?

    Leather Steering Wheel Cover

I'm going to add a cover just to make the wheel more padded and a bigger diameter. My other car is a BMW Z4M which has a thick padded wheel and I like the feel of that.

    Leather Steering Wheel Cover

Anyone have a good source for a leather aftermarket steering wheel cover that will fit the CX-9?

    Yakima MightyMounts on Factory Rails

Wish I had found this thread yesterday. Spent $50 for the Yakima "Universal" mount kit which worked fine but is less secure that the Mightly Mounts because you can unscrew the mounts from the roof rack. Oh well, I don't usually park the car with skis on top so I'll use what I have.....

    Dead Homelink?

Thanks, will check the kick panel. I'm starting to think the homelink may never have been wired because there are only 3 wires going into the back of the mirror. I read somewhere that the homelink always hot 12v wire is supposed to be yellow. I called the previous owner's servicing dealer...
