    Vehicle just did another DPF regen yesterday for the usual 15 minute drive. Bonnet and headlights were indeed hot to the touch.

    I think it's normal that engine temps are much higher. It has to burn off the soot accumulated inside the DPF or else it will clog. If it's not showing any codes, I don't see any problem. Will check my unit if it gets too hot to touch during regen cycle.

    Pretty sure your car is doing a DPF regen which is normal for the diesel. In my case, it occurs every 200km for about 10-15 mins to burn off the soot. Signs are the higher engine temp, higher fuel consumption, foul-smelling exhaust, and i-stop indicator is unlit even if you didn't switch it...
