    Emissions Recall

The service manager at my dealer's called back to say (as you stated, Hate) that the tube is designed to be left empty and unplugged, as pictured. Apparently its purpose is to provide an access route for a tiny camera on a flexible stalk down into the workings of something in the transmission...

    Emissions Recall

Thanks for the comments, Hate. Yup, I know the oil dipstick is at the front of the engine (kind of hard to miss with its canary yellow handle in the midst of all that black stuff)... because the tube sort of heads down into the transmission tunnel, I thought it might be something to do with the...

    Emissions Recall

Well, the good news is the dealer didn't just confirm my diagnostic assessment as they said they wanted to do, they actually fixed the cause of the CEL by replacing P/N L3Y2-20-170 "Runner Control Actuator" at no charge. The CEL hasn't lit up since I got the car back Thursday night, and its...

    Emissions Recall

Where would I find the purge valve solenoid? Just in case the techs don't read this forum and tell me "its fixed" tomorrow, only to see the CEL pop up again as I drive away. (uhm)

    Winter tires/wheels for MS6

I bought 17" wheels and snow tires from the dealer as part of the car purchase deal. I wanted the 17's with a higher profile tire so that I'd have more sidewall buffer for the all-winter-long-bumpy-ice-roads I have to endure here in Edmonton from December to March. You only need to benefit...

    Emissions Recall

I read my own CELs using AutoTap. I only needed to be charged $100 once for a CEL reading years ago when an evap cannister had a leaking hose - after that, I bought my own OBDII software. But anyway, I disagree with the relaxed approach - a new car shouldn't be throwing CELs, and if it does...

    93 Octane Fuel

Almost every car made since the mid-80's is designed to handle up to 20% ethanol fuel. The older cars had issues with the ethanol degrading the rubber in hoses and seals. I run both Esso 91 and Husky 92 without issues... the higher 93-94 octane fuels will let you extract the most *safe*...

    Emissions Recall

Service rep just called back to say this recall campaign doesn't apply to my Canuck car. Weird. Not sure what that means, as the CEL continues to come and go. They still have to address the problem on a warranty basis, on a car with only 6000km on the clock.

    Emissions Recall

No recall notice mailed/issued to me in Edmonton Alberta Canada so far. My CEL comes and goes daily, and I've pulled the P2006 code every time. Called my dealer service rep this morning and she's researching the applicability of the recall notice(s) to my car - but she couldn't find the 4807H...

How Do You Order MP3 Head Unit

I thought I was getting the MP3 head unit in my '07 MSM6, but its the standard 6-CD changer head (just spits out MP3 disks). (pissed) But I can't find a reference to the MP3 unit anywhere except in the User Manual that came in my car. What's the story here? Did anyone get this head unit? How...

Check engine light on at only 2200 miles

Yeah, I know its under warranty, but I've seen enough bogus CELs to know there are some that require ATTENTION RIGHT F*****G NOW, and some that you can just reset and/or ignore for a couple days. The dealer will definitely be involved with this, but I like to know for myself what they should be...

    2007 Black GT

I picked up my 2007 Titanium Grey back on January 12th, and like you say: - wierdest clutch ever (I thought it was just me!) - 6th gear is unreal - the whole car IS ridiculous I used to drive a blown '99 Miata (213rwhp), so the horsepower feels familiar but the turbo comes on so non-linear...
