I got the car at the dealer right now getting my second VVT actuator for timing chain installed first one was at 3000 miles and now at 40000 miles. Good thing it is under the power-train warranty because he sad it would cost me about $1100. I did ask him is that a problem with many 2.3 turbos...
I heard a noise from the rear of the car and dropped at the dealer, he just call me and sad that it was a rear left bearing and priced at $550 (unamused)

the noise started first when the car was cold, then all the time while driving.
Yesterday there was a different noise while under heavy acceleration. More like rattling.
Yes you are right. They Just called me and they will replace the turbo under warranty right now I have 27500 miles chenge oil every 5000 and use mobil 1
I think I will start every 3000.
going to Mazda Dealer tomorrow see what they say. The noise got worst. I hope they can fix it quickly they don't offer a loner car any more, something about the, warranty changed.(rant)
Back to original thread. Yes I know that when the engine is cold the rpm goes up to 2000 rpm. That is not a problem for me. What I hear now that didn't hear before is maybe the bearings in the turbo giving up. There is no loss of power or hesitation. The car has 20000 miles and I don't want to...
Well new winter is here in Chicago and we had temp at -4F to my amazement the car performs perfectly. So I don't know what changed but I drive the car the same way.
