    Protege 5 rust

My car is a complete mess right now, I'll try to give cliffnotes, I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and did wash my car and waxed it. I'm the 2nd owner and have owned it for 4 years (03 P5) -Need to use a piece of wood for spare tire jack to spread out weight, crunches right through -Wheel arch on...

Going to be tackling both rear calipers this weekend, any tips/suggestions for them?

Just so I understand, if I'm putting on new rotors, pads, and calipers all at once, what do I need to do in terms of piston/allen key or parking cable adjustment? Anything special?

Yep, read the service manual online, and actually already have the calipers/rotors. I just know that sometimes, the real world can be different then the instructions in the manual. The calipers/rotors are completely seized and look really bad.

Have never done rear brake work, anything useful to know beforehand to save time and headaches? I'm replacing rotors and both calipers. Thanks!

Failed rear jackpoints, what else to use?

I always used the seam that runs down the side of the car. We all know the build quality of these cars when it comes to rust, so the rear jackpoints failed infront of the rear wheel well. What else should I use now? Is my car still safe to hoist up anywhere whether its my little jackstands or a...

bearing replaced, popped sway link replaced, and switched tires yet car still noisy

Well none were actually making noise when spun alone, which I hear is possible though. Even with no contact on the tie by caliper/pads (only tried front 2 with caliper off), only the driver side front felt like it had more resistance. Now, both tries spin normally when in the air after I...

bearing replaced, popped sway link replaced, and switched tires yet car still noisy

+ The thing is, it was only the one wheel where once in the air that would be noticeably different to spin. This was after replacing pads and rotors on both sides. So basically my noise is heard only when turning right and going straight ahead. The noise disappears once I turn left. Driver...

bearing replaced, popped sway link replaced, and switched tires yet car still noisy

The thing is, on the side where the noise is coming from, when I replaced the rotor/pads, the caliper was sliding good on the pins. I still lubed it up more anyway but I honestly thought it was still good. It's been making the same sound both before and after rotor/pad replacement. Replacing the...

bearing replaced, popped sway link replaced, and switched tires yet car still noisy

So about 5 weeks ago, I went to a cabin in Manitoba that involved 40 minutes of gravel slightly bumpy road driving, so 80 minutes in total. The highway is rated at 90kms/hr still if that means anything. Car sat for 5 days until I needed to drive it again and thats when the terrible noise...
