    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

The problem in this link. 3 of the cars I have tried had at least one window out and were fixed by this. I revisited 2 of them and the problem had returned in both. A fourth was not fixable and was going to be taken back to Mazda by the selling dealership. It could annoy me pretty quickly if the...

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

I still haven't got a car yet, and still umming and erring about the 6. There is one I have my eye on but the dealer has to lower his demands. I'm still impressed by the 6... and there are still things bugging me about it. Every one I have driven seems to have problems with the windows. I have...

    Let it SNOW!

+1 Get to know your car in the extremes. Also try the car without DSC - I'm not sure how the MS6 behaves, but I prefer to turn off the safety systems in my WRX because I know how the car will behave (as opposed to the computer changing what I am trying to do).

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

I was reading the used car section of Canadian Driver and they suggested that diff and knock sensor problems were common and expensive to fix on the MS6. How true is this?

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

Thanks for the replies. I thought the clutch seemed smoother on the 07 than the 06, so thanks for the explanation on that. I also hear you about the seat warmers, it's a shame that they don't have a low setting. That being said, at -18C like today too much heat is better than none! It's also a...

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

I tried the '07 in snow today. The '08 WRX is full time 50/50 AWD and easier to slide around in tight spaces. It doesn't feel so composed at speeds though (probably the stock suspension). The MS6 felt the opposite - composed with normal driving, but not so nimble in tight spaces. I think the 6...

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

For sure you have to turn DSC off to maintain a controlled slide - otherwise the computer will take over, meaning that you are no longer in control. I always turn mine off in the WRX when it snows. I think I'll have to take a look at youtube... How did you like going from the WRX to the MS6...

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

The 08 WRX is waaay too soft - they were slated and went a little stiffer on the 09. I think Subaru are trying to appeal to a different market than in previous years. I don't have the confidence to throw it into a corner like with other cars I have owned. I thought it was just me getting older...

    MS6 - Thinking About Buying

I currently have a 2008 WRX which is coming to the end of it's lease. I don't really want to make the buyout because I find the car too soft, while the weak turbo isn't my favourite thing. I also have a new baby and could use something a little smoother to drive. On the other hand, the WRX is...

    Heeeelp!!!! Sudden CEL Problem

Yep, one replaced EGR and the car is running fine. Thanks to those who offered their advice.

    Heeeelp!!!! Sudden CEL Problem

I am amazed at how someone could misdiagnose an issue like a collapsed cylinder ring. The car was towed across town to Mazda, and in the morning they started it and said there was no problem! They ran tests based on the previous diagnosis - all cylinder compressions were good. From reading the...

    Heeeelp!!!! Sudden CEL Problem

I have been told that replacing the internal engine parts could cost around $3500 Canadian. I called my salesman to yell at him, but he embarrased me by pointing out that the engine is covered by a manufacture's 5 year/100,000km warranty. I am sure that he told me it was 4 years before I bought...

    Heeeelp!!!! Sudden CEL Problem

The idle was fine until the engine light came on. It felt a little unresponsive unless you floored it, which was the reason I uprated the plugs on Sunday. They seemed to make a bit of difference until the engine light came on. My initial theory was that I may have damaged one of the coil boxes...
