Hmm, really? this is if I need a rebuilt one from the dealership? I got word from the dealer and they want to put in a new transmission for $6500! A remanufactured one would still come out to $6k. What would I tell MazdaUSA to ask for help on this?

I took it to a different shop because my dad insisted he knows a guy *super eye roll again. But for this guy, the transmission worked like normal for a few minutes and then went back to the jerking thing. So he said he's thinking it might be an electrical issue with the computer not...

wouldn't engine related issues bring up a check engine light though? i'm going to pick it up and take it to a different place this afternoon for a second look.

Talked to him again. Clarified that he will rebuild it himself. He said there was no code when he scanned. So no check engine light and no other code from the scan tool. He's basing it on what happened when he drove it. Said there's no other way to figure out than by opening it up.

no, the car acts up in both D and manual. It's just that if I put it in manual, I can stay in 1st gear to move it around. If I'm in D, it automatically tries to shift up to 2nd if I go past 10mph, and that's when the action happens. I don't remember if I was able to shift to 2nd in manual mode...

Spent Father's Day weekend driving around some beach towns. When I was coming back home, the freeway ride was normal, nothing wrong. I exited the freeway, came to a stop light, and when I started again, the car bucked and jerked if I went over 10mph. I was able to set it to manual mode and stay...

Thanks for the reply, but why? I'm trying to understand why the trunk mount isn't good? As far as the "extra dough" my twins' mom receives that and much more, so it's really not an option right now.

mingm, did you ever use this with actual bikes? I'm looking to get a trunk rack as well and this is one of the few that seems to be compatible with a CX5's rear spoiler.

I had to replace the battery a few months ago. Perhaps I can get it checked, though.

Any update on this? I had a similar experience with loss of power, but nothing to do with seatbelts or dings.
