I've used Kirkland for the last 3 oil changes. Noise has been happening for maybe 2-3 weeks. Might be correlates to the newest oil change with WIX filter but it could be a coincidence.
I've been using Kirkland or Pennzoil 0W-20 with the OEM mazda oil filter. I changed the oil about a month ago using the Wix CX5 filter and Kirkland 0W-20.
The stain isn't from the oil drain area. I'll have to take a closer look.
Noise was there this morning and over weekend when temps were below 45 F, even after trying the air bleed thing. This afternoon temp is 55+ F and noise went away.
Anyone know how serious the problem is? Ok to drive...

Oil(?) stain here, I didn't notice tons of oil around the engine, but I also didn't look super close.

Thanks in advance to all the great folks here. Yet another engine issue post. Have read through the long threads.

Can anyone help with diagnosis? What would you say to the dealer to get the most help without having to pay through the nose? Is...
Dealer did do the TSB for leaking engine oil a week before the 2 low oil pressure warnings came on. Maybe excess sealant went and clogged up the valve a bit.
Thanks for all the info and advice. The CEL light came on 3x over the last 3 years. Each time, the light was on for about 10 mins then went away. Car seems to drive fine and no strange behavior/noise from engine. Ill monitor it and see how things go. Thank you all again!
Did they use the wrong ocv? Any suggestions for next steps/get the issue fixed? Call Mazda corporate like you suggested earlier? Any leg to stand on if the check engine light doesn't come back?
Based on the dealer service notes, looks like they replaced the oil control valve. From the service notes:
"B0226DrX OCV for Hydraulic Variable Valve Timing"

I have record of the low oil pressure because they applied the TSB for it a couple years back.
What's the benefit of MNAO case? Any suggestions on who to contact and what type of case to create?
