    What is THD%??

Thd Since you got 3 other opinions I thought I'd add another. The THD rating means Total Harmonic Distortion, which at it's rated power is how much the input signal is being distorted through amplification. Less it better, but it depends on application, Such that subwoofer amplifiers "can...

PLEASE HELP!!!!! 2009 Mazda 3 Steering Wheel Controls

I am going to guess that you cannot simply connect the factory wires to you Pioneer deck. It is usually not that simple. You might need an interface unit from PAC. The wire colors are in the third post of this thread.

HELP!! Alternator whine w/ new setup

I would assume that some amps would not like that DC voltage. Which might be why some report no alternator noise, some do have it. I am sure alpine could shed some light on their amp for sure. Good luck

HELP!! Alternator whine w/ new setup

I might have found why you and others have noise. Today while installing my LOC, I noticed that it was not turning off its remote wire as it should. My reason is that my non-bose head unit has a +6v dc offset on the front speaker leads (didn't check the rear yet) as soon as the car is turned...

HELP!! Alternator whine w/ new setup

If you get an o-scope, check the rca jacks also. You would see it there also. It could be the alternator/regulator, but I would lean more towards the rca cables. Good luck.

There cannot be ground loops in the MS3 with the stock HU

I was implying that people have done it without ground loop isolators. But the funny part is that when I read your post I thought you were referring to a Volkswagen GLI. (cheers) guess I should not read while drinking.:D

There cannot be ground loops in the MS3 with the stock HU

That is one approach. Older cars with more steel would have a lower resistance, todays cars with less metal would have more resistance. With a unibody the welded body panels are what your are relying on.

There cannot be ground loops in the MS3 with the stock HU

I would argue that there have been successful additions of amps to MS3/M3 car audio systems. Be it the installation or components (to include wiring). It seams that it can be done without noise.

There cannot be ground loops in the MS3 with the stock HU

Not 100% true. The more steel that is between components grounds, the more resistance that is created. Such that the grounds will not be the same. Steel is less conductive than copper.

HELP!! Alternator whine w/ new setup

My experience with this is that the power wire and audio cables are ran too close to each other, the alternator is "noisy" or a ground loop. It sounds like it is before the amp. Here are some tips: Try an ipod playing music in to the amp inputs with a headphone to rca cable. Try a temp...

    Steering Wheel Audio Control Issue

IIRC the head unit outputs a voltage, the resistance changes that voltage, the other wire "reads" the voltage and performs an action based in the voltage/button pushed. To me it sounds like the head unit. Get one off ebay, they are usually cheap. Good luck

    Red-stripe In-Dash GPS Installed!

Specs Did the unit come with any specification on it? If it did can someone post a pic or scan of them? Can any one post pics of the gray one installed? How many rca outputs? How many video outputs? THD of outputs? Signal to noise ratio of the outputs? County of manufacture? Manufactures...

    LEDs under the hood

Here I was thinking the "r" work was retarded.......(uhm) Mazda is rice, but led's under the hood serve no purpose. I carry a led flash light instead in my MS3
