MAF is all dried up..got everything going and still no luck... Instead of goofing around, I just turned the stop screw on the throttle body so I idle at 980rpm ish... Problem solved.
I was sick of changing things.. The car runs fine now..
It shocked me too.... No codes.. no check engine light.. Mind you I didn't drive it at all. I revved it up a bit a few times.. It boggles me.. I just cleaned it and waiting for it to dry so I will update!
Hey everyone, its been a while since my last post...
I have the rough idle symptoms. The usual..
2000 LX 1.8
-New Canadian EGR
-New plugs/wires
-No leaks
I was running out of ideas until I took the air intake tube off to get a better look for leaks and the car ran fine with the tube off...
Sounds good.. as for an update, I have put about 25000km's on the car and its still running well. no noises or anything.. bearings were 144 bucksCAN so I cant complain.. like I said earlier though.. really bad design when it comes to taking the windage plate off
Update: I swapped them out and everything is fine.. been running for about 5000Km's now.. The only bugger was the oil pan. What a stupid way of attaching it to to the engine. I had to split the tranny from the engine to get at 2 little bolts... definitely aggravating!!! All in all.. cheap fix...
Once again I am backlogged.. I am putting new connecting rod bearings in the car the cheap way.. check out my post in the 1.8L section and tell me what you think....
Soooo.. no one has any info? Or comments?.. I have the oil pan off and I have pics.. Tomorrow I will be puttin the new bearings in and hopefully everything together. If people are interested in this and if it works properly I will make a how to....

Does anyone have plans or ideas for a nicely mounted 12" sub in the trunk? Something that works but leaves space in the trunk. I am moving my system from my older Grand AM to my 2000 Protege.. Thanks...
