Front lower control arm ball joint

I did put in the new sway bar bushings. It is much harder than it looks since there is very limited space to work in. That fixed the low tone banging/thud sound. Definitely, sway arm bushings were worn out. Very surprised they would wear out so soon! This MZ5 only has 31,000 miles. There is...

Front lower control arm ball joint

Hi, I have the same problem. I have replaced both lower controls arms - that didn't resolve the problem. When you guys say "strut bearing" what does that mean? In the below diagram, which part is strut bearing? Also, you guys think it's ok to use aftermarket Sway Bar bushings or they must be...

    Auto Headlight Retrofit?

Did some more research. The auto daylight sensor is part of the rain auto wiper sensor. Installed on the underside of the rear-view mirror (windshield center) and integrated with the rain sensor as a single unit. There are a few available on eBay, but I'm concerned that 1/2 of that sensor is...

    Auto Headlight Retrofit?

Hi, Any ideas how to retrofit auto headlight option? I installed the column combo switch that has the Auto lights option, and fog lights. Fog light work fine. Is there anything else that needs to be done? a relay? or some other sensor? Installed: BP8M66122 MAZDA 5 06-09 column mounted, light...

    Blower Motor access

I have had the MZ5 sit around in a wooded area for 2 years. The mice have built a nest inside fan blower assembly. This is just the type of thing that occurs frequently in our area. Mice invade everything/everywhere. I need to get to the fan blower and clean it out. The Haynes manual says...

    Torque tightening Exhaust Manifold

I inherited this car from my mother. It had a blown engine from when she tried to drive through a flooded road. The engine sucked in water. So it wasn't due to wear and tear. I swapped motors from a salvage yard.

    My Engine Swap

Long story... had inherited a 2009 MZ5 with a blown engine. Project sat around 2 yrs. Replacement motor from salvage yard. I think it was easier to remove the bumper and radiator to pull the motor, rather than taking the transmission and lowering suspension.

    Torque tightening Exhaust Manifold

Loosenut, thank you! The reason I asked was because the Chilton manual calls for 55 ft/lbs on the head nuts. Which I thought felt way too tight and might crack either the manifold or block. Those studs & nuts aren't that big for that kinda torque.
