Confirmation on the windshield cowl fix.

Same problem. I took it to the dealer and told them about the problem. They fixed it in about half an hour with some foam tape and something about shims...not sure exactly. It looks pretty much like stock except at a couple points the cowl is raised up a couple mm.

squeeky seat? anyone? anyone? bueller? bueller?

I had the same thing. Just spray a little WD40 into the buckle mechanism and around the bolt.

    How safe are bolt-on mods?

You will run into issues. I wouldn't do much more than intake and cat-back exhaust without a tuning solution. If you go turbo-back I would be concerned about boost spikes and definite fuel cut. The increased efficiency leads to higher boost levels. Personally, I am waiting for the Cobb Access Port.

    noise from windshield?

I took mine to the dealer and the technician took off the cowl and fixed it using "shims on the cowl," I think he said, and foam tape. The rattle is 100% gone.

    Mazdaspeed 3 problems/troubleshooting thread

The only issue I have had is the windshield cowl rattle that others have mentioned (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123685785&highlight=cowl+rattle) I took it to the dealer and was fortunate enough to talk to a technician who was great. He completely took off the cowl and said...

Wheels that dont fit cause of offset, what to do?

H&R makes really nice spacers. I ran them on my turbo Nissan Sentra Spec V with absolutely no problems. I would definitely not recommend the $5 spacers from the local parts shop. Depending on how big of a spacer you need, you must consider if the stock wheel studs are long enough. I need to buy...

Lets see what everyone drove before getting the MS3

Most recently I drove a 1999 Prelude SH, however this was purely an interim solution. Before that I had what was my introduction to the world of import cars (and tuning): the 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V below. Mods: Engine Performance Powertech Imports Turbo Kit -Garrett T3/T04B turbo...

Cobb Technical Document (How the factory boost control system works)

I found this on the Cobb Forum; I believe it was just recently released. Clearly, this is good news and it appears that the AccessPort is coming very soon!

Something to think about before installing intake

That's cool, just a differing opinion I guess. I asked them about the front mount and they said that the MS intake will work fine with it. Also, the post-intercooler air temps were the same with both the Cobb intake and the MS. Pre-intercooler they found that air temps were obviously a bit...

Something to think about before installing intake

From everything I have learned both from research online and from speaking with a Cobb engineer, I have the most confidence in the Cobb intake. The MAF housing is the same size as stock and the velocity stack takes care of turbulence. I was told by Cobb that from their testing the A/F ratio...

Something to think about before installing intake

I have contacted a Cobb engineer to see if their intake design considers all of the factors in the atricle. I know they have addressed the turbulence issue but not sure about the leaning issue. I am tempted to wait for the AccessPort to ensure it is done right. However, I know an intake isn't a...

*HELP w/ running lean after installing intake (rd6066)

You should check out a thread I just started. This may shed some light on your problem. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123684892

Something to think about before installing intake

Hello, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3. I have owned turbo cars in the past and have been doing tons of research before making my first modifications. The link below is a very interesting article from Cobb discussing the realities of aftermarket intakes and where...
