    Pro5 Alternator and the "computer"

iirc, the P5 "computer" is sensitive to the power that it gets. Audio guys trying to upgrade to larger, more powerful alternators, have had issues. Don't quote me on this, but check to see that the new alt is close spec wise to the old one?

    Kartboy Exhaust Hangers

They don't stretch as much. Aftermarket exhausts tend to be heavier, and stock hangers will stretch and possibly smack the system against your car or bumper going over curbs, bumps etc.... I got 'em and like em.

    speaker recommendations

With 6 speakers, using a crossover of some type, you could try and get lower bass frequencies to play just from your rears. Not sure what your current set up is atm though....like FoxPro5 indicates, more information would be needed to make any meaningful suggestions. As for "better that...

    1/2" or 3/4" MDF for 6.75" components

I had issues with 3/4 mdf baffles. My Focal KP's hit the door panel. It was a close fit and nothing touched at rest, but when I played them loud, they hit the door. Put a holes in the surround from plastic burrs that I missed when I cut the ring off. I guess if I'd counter sunk the driver...

    P5 kickpod advice needed

Nope.....didn't get that far yet :( . I did glass my woofer into the jack side of the hatch though (that was learning experience!). I want to use 4" in the kicks, put then I can't decide what to do from there. I 'm running an Audison 4 channel amp bridged right now. The possible xover, amp...

    P5 kickpod advice needed

I was hoping that if I built the pod to be extended up with an open top that it would simulate a door well enough....but guess that wouldn't really be infinite baffle....more ported enclosure. The woofers really pound in the doors so the more I think about it, the more doomed that idea seems...

    P5 kickpod advice needed

I'm going to experiment a bit with some fiberglass and want to do up some kicks for my Focal KP's. They're 6 1/2 (big for kicks i know) and I've seen all the tutorials, but I just need some advice how to mount them to my P5. I went to the wreckers and got another pair of panels that I can hack...

    mdf front door baffle width?

yeah.....it is teh suck! They still sound fine though, so I guess it's not the end of the world. Under full excursion with a 9v battery, they would still touch even if I perfected my dremel skills. The burrs and rough edges did the damage and the grid actually presses on the surround on the...

HID lighting, why they are illegal

What about these ones? http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119525 I know the original post was 3 years ago, but it looks like Helios has solved those problems?

    mdf front door baffle width?

That was a good idea Poseur. (cheers2) I popped out the switches and though there does seem to be maybe 2/3 mm more space in the driver door, they still touched and caused damage to the surrounds! I'm kinda pissed cuz the guy I paid to put some of the stuff in came recommended from a friend...

    mdf front door baffle width?

That's what I thougnt too but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe the driver extends far enough to touch? Further inspection shows that my door panel curves back slightly at the top of the grill and that might make the difference. Either way, I think I'm putting 1/2" in tomorrow. Not ready to spend...

    mdf front door baffle width?

I have some 6.5" Focals in my front doors and used 3/4" mdf to make the baffle. Info on this board said at the time that 3/4 should be ok. I pulled the door panels off today and the speaker surrounds are slightly deformed on the top and bottom and have marks on them that seem to match the...

    Chuyler1's new audio install log.

Yes .....pics please!:) I have similar issues with harshness. Almost like overtones at certain frequencies and high volumes. With my set up, I'm confident it's not the amp, but I also think it's car related, as my peq efforts prove difficult as well. I'm thinking the center console may...

    Chuyler1's new audio install log.

Yeah I had the same problem with A pillar tweets. I dropped them as much as -7db on the crossover and probably still could've eq'd some more but I gave up and dropped the tweets to the kickpanel instead. With a 3 way set up, you might have more luck and not get a sonic hole caused by the drop...
