I hope you filed a police report because that glass is going to cost you money that you could've used for more go fast bits.

Guide Found a successful Drive Cycle formula!

Did they at least tell you which sensors were going bad so you could replace them down the road?

Guide Found a successful Drive Cycle formula!

Just so I understand correctly, your check engine light isn't on after driving those 1,000 miles, correct? You mentioned that it wasn't on but I wanted to verify. Below are the only additional notes/tips I can offer and I apologize for the extended reading material: For any step specifying...

Oh wow! That should've definitely done it by now. So is the inspection station telling you that can't pass inspection because your sensor's still aren't set? We might be able to guide you a bit better once you've posted the drive cycle specs. What state are you in if you don't mind my asking?

This drive cycle is for a Mazdas 2003 and older. I know this works on my 2001 Mazda Protege. It took a bit but I was able to find this link for the Mazda 3s. Disconnected battery, failed OBDII inspection. Do we... Scroll down and find the posts by flatlander937. Focus on the parts in bold...

For your cruise control buttons, I'm assuming you have the three spoke steering wheel with the three buttons on the right hand side. If so, you'll need to remove the air bag and then you should be able to get to the switch and remove it. The bolts for the airbag are behind the steering wheel...

Guide Found a successful Drive Cycle formula!

In that exact order, yes, has been my experience. However, I've sometimes had to pause in between each step because of traffic or road conditions but I've done it all in that one drive. I've driven more time that what the cycle recommends (by a few minutes), once again because of traffic and...

What happens when the timing belt breaks or skips? 1998 Mazda 323

More than likely your timing belt broke hence why you don't have compression. Take off your timing cover and see if the belt is torn.

What happens when the timing belt breaks or skips? 1998 Mazda 323

The 1.8L is a non-interference engine so no bent valves or broken cogs if your timing belt broke. Is it not starting?

    LankyKiwi's Rally-flavored SP20

I ran into an electrical gremlin years ago where my car would suddenly shut off without rhyme or reason. I couldn't track down what it was but it felt like it was cutting out electrically. I decided to run extra grounds from the battery, to the block, and back to the other side of the engine...

Fresh Sweet Donuts Everywhere! (work log)

Nice to see an MSP still running. My Protege is still running (and passes safety inspection) though I wonder back and forth if I should sell it. Every time I think I'm ready, I don't have the heart. Too many good memories with that car. I hear ya on being a dad and not having time. Even...
