Not trying to prove anybody wrong. My comment was based on what worked for me since i had a similar setup but only on the pipe right by the exhaust manifold to keep out the excess heat.

Bear in mind that the exhaust gas only drives the turbine. The air is sucked in through the intake not from the exhaust.

Without the heat shield the IC piping does heat up quite a bit because it sits right next to the exhaust mani, and if you wonder about the engine bay heating up your pipes,feel your hood. Th exhaust wrap keeps excess heat off you pipes.
