Winner winner chicken dinner. There was a slice in the intake hose where the bellows were. Duct taped it and I was good to go. Now, I need to find a replacement for it. Or should I pick up a short ram intake?

Problem solved!!! It was not transmission related at all. Motor mounts where fine. CEL would have given the answer. Any one got any guess before I give it away? Here is a clue....total repair cost (so far) for the quick fix was less than $10.

It looks like it will be stranded at the mechanics until Monday before anyone even gets to look at it. I may drive back to it and check the mounts.

The car idles fine. 135k miles on the car and clutch.

No crunching or grinding. I thought about the motor mounts, but if you took off slow and steady it wouldn't be so violent (I wouldn't think anyway). I can hope that is what is wrong with it. Forgot to mention, the CEL eventually came on.

Not interested in that price. You can get new ones from Toyota for like 1600. or used JDM ones with 50,000 milesish for 1,300 with axles which you need for 91 and 92 models By the way I'm pretty sure the V6 Solora did have manuals. Only certian years though.

Solaras do have manual trannies but are rare. I know because I need one as a cheap replacement for my 91 MR2 turbo. They have better syncros and they geared higher. The tranny code is E153 or something like that.
