I've got a 2016 GT. Basic maintenance since new except for I got the wheels replaced under warranty because the paint was flaking off them (dark grey wheels).

In 3.5 years of ownership my HUD failed to rise twice when I started the car. I just shut the car off and restarted it and it popped up and worked as normal.

The 6 only comes as a sedan in the USA. Totally new model started in 2014 with several yearly updates after that. I'm not sure what your budget is but I think a 2016 or newer would be preferred and I also prefer the GT package.

I had the issue on my 2016 GT which was manufactured in June 2015. No telling when the wheels were manufactured.

No pics but it is a known problem so I'd have the dealer look at it. My new wheels seem to be a shade ever so slightly lighter in color so I'm glad I got 4 new wheels. But, that could be my eyesight playing tricks on me too.
