Hey everyone.....I will be off the boards for about 2 weeks as my computer crashed and we have now decided to say screw PC's and just ordered a new 17" flat panel iMac. SO I will be off for about 2 weeks while its being built and shipped also my e-mail address on here will not be valid in a few weeks either as I am switching off AOL to some other company not sure yet though which one. Just thought I would let you all know since I know I will be widely missed ROFL :D

What would Tony Soprano do....hmmmm?

Best not to find out...better turn up the boost...or compression in your case and hurry back. ;)

You have AOL? Ugh. At least you're getting rid of THAT.

Flat panel Mac, eh? Good luck with that.

:'(

Looks like you're getting out of one piece of crap (AOL) and into another (Mac (puke) )... :) Just playing. Good luck and see you soon.

Being a computer programmer/part web developer, it kind of comes with it, you know? I mainly hate macs because everything I try to do on the web has to be changed. Its hard enough with IE and Netscape, but then IE and Netscape on the Mac is a whole different story.

I think I came to believe Macs were useless back in the day when they really were. But I bet if I sat down with one now with OS-X, I'd be pleasantly surprised. One this for sure is that a high-end Mac is much more $$$ than a high-end PC.

Very true about the Macs but they have come along way since the original Power PC's and even the G3's THe G4 at 800 mhz will benchmark higher than a 2.0 Ghz P4 chip. Mainly due to it being a full 128 bit system all the time and not a flip flop from 32 to 64 like the Pentiums are. For graphics work they are unbeatable though. Web work they are getting alot better also. As far as what windows is good for....wait a tick....windows isn't good for anything....I haven't strayed totally from Windows though my wifes classes are all on Windows PC's so we have Virtual PC on it also so we can run Win XP inside OS X. But for my work (3D animation and graphic) the OS X can't be beat. For all you non-believers out there I suggest you go play around on one of the new macs and you will be pleasently surprised I believe. Not to mention it looks better than any other computer out there....now start getting into the Dual Processor G4's and then yes you are talking high dollar. Even my top of the line iMac with everything we wanted ended up being 2500 with tax and shipping but well well worth it. Also remember that windows is getting a little better about crashing all the freakin time but OS X is based on UNIX which IMO is the most stable OS out there anyways. OS X Jaguar is the most stable home PC OS out there I think which luck has it I have it!!:D
