Noob 🖐️

New to Mazda, we just bought a 2023 CX-5 GS base model (29000 kilometers). Hopefully posting in the right place to introduce and say hi, haven't used forms in years.

What if any are the first things to do as a new owner?

Read the manual first, then go through the settings in the car and the options will make sense to you.

Some of the first few accessories I got include thin plastic trays that slide in between the seat and center console to both give you more storage space for trinkets as well as stop you from dropping stuff into that gap, bag hooks that hang off the back of your head rests, wireless carplay dongle, and then I fog bombed it to get previous owner smell out of the car and ventilated seats.

Then I kind of went nuts with a car wash setup (pressure washer, foam cannon, soaps and chemicals, etc) but I have 3 cars that it'll be used for.

Welcome to the forum & Mazda.
This forum is both a wealth of shared user information as well as a "dangerous" source of things you didn't know your CX-5 couldn't live without . I mean that in a good way!

Congrats! So many ways to spend money :=0. Window tint, paint protection and tires on the bigger ticket end. Interior accessories galore once you get used the environment and ID your needs. I bought a console tray that was like adding a second story to a ranch house.

That's helpful, I need to deoder previous owner had pet, never heard of fog bomb.
Picked one up from Walmart, it was just $6 or so, I think Refresh was the brand, there are a few to choose from. My car had a little bit of a urine smell sometimes, previous owner had a baby I could tell due to car seat indentations on the rear seats. The fogger worked really well, better than trying to mask a smell with even more fragrance. I changed out the cabin air filter after fogging as well just because it's a simple job.
